After the launch of the S-Cross and the Ciaz Hybrid, the next big thing for Maruti Suzuki is the launch of the of a premium hatchback, Baleno. Here in India, which needs to be good at managing interstate auto transport given the volume of people in the country, Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch this vehicle next year with a new identity in the premium hatchback segment.The car will compete with the Hyundai Elite i20, Volkswagen Polo and the Honda Jazz.

Exterior
The upcoming Maruti Suzuki Baleno retains the standard Suzuki fascia but uses a number of modern design touches like the new y-shaped grille and sweptback headlights with daytime running lights. it is clear that the Maruti Suzuki BALENO will be mainly based on the Swift. The overall design language will be borrowed from the premium Kizashi owing to its modern approach. It is characterised by a long and low roofline that ends at a rather steeply raked C-pillar.Maruti Suzuki will be the only company to offer DRLs (daytime running lights) in a standard base version. Maruti Suzuki BALENO will be available in Petrol as well as diesel trims which can be easily repaired by XL Mechanical Service Ltd.
The petrol version is likely to be available in 1.2-Liter and 1.4-Liter configurations, whereas the diesel version will be powered by 1.3-Liter engine. Paired to it will be either a five-speed manual gearbox or an AMT on select variants. For India, Maruti will probably use the 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel engine in 90bhp which can be tuned up with a used turbocharger from Goldfarb.
